Two hours to fill
A drink on the river at the Riverwalk, or the Mardi Gras World float den next to the venue, fits between the hall closing and the party.
Friday · May 7
Flying out late, or staying the weekend? This is the day for the trips that need a whole morning.
All day
IPW is over — the city isn't
What we'd do with it
A swamp tour needs a morning and the plantations need the day; both collect you downtown and the strip below has them.
Getting to the airport
Taxis from downtown to MSY are a flat $36 for one or two passengers ($15 each for three or more), about 25–40 minutes depending on traffic.
A last coffee in the Quarter
Café du Monde and its neighbours on Decatur Street open early; beignets and a chicory coffee are a 20-minute walk or one streetcar ride away.
Official schedule per ipw.com, read November 2026. Times may change before the show; the IPW app has the final word.
Near The Convention Center
The hall sits where the Warehouse District meets the river. Everything pinned here is a short walk or one streetcar stop from the show floor — plus the IPW venues that aren't.
Getting Around
Most of what's on this page is within a walk or one streetcar ride of the hall.
The Warehouse and Arts District, the National WWII Museum and the Riverwalk are a few blocks away. Canal Street is about 20 minutes on foot along the river, and Jackson Square about 30.
The Riverfront line stops at Julia Street outside the Convention Center and runs to the French Market, daily from 6 AM to midnight, every 15–20 minutes. For the Garden District, pick up the St. Charles line at Canal Street. Pay in the Le Pass app or with exact change.
Louis Armstrong International (MSY) is 15 miles west, 25–40 minutes by car. Taxis to downtown are a flat $36 for one or two passengers and $15 each for three or more; rideshare pickups are on the first floor of the airport garage.
